This week, we had the chance to talk to Viktor, our mood lifter at Sophie’s. Viktor talks about the best thing about Sophie’s, our Chambre Separee La Cour, and how many jackets he has sewn for wearing at Sophie’s. If you visit our lively bar Sophie’s, it’s Viktor you should look for.
Nice to hang out with you and get to know you better! For those who don’t know you, who are you?
My name is Viktor Ottenback, and I’m an incredibly happy, funny, and positive guy. I live with my two boys, aged 9 and 13, in Lidingö. You should come by Sophie’s and say hello to me, and you’ll get a better idea of who I am.
What’s the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is definitely all the different people I meet, both new and old guests. Most people are the happiest when they’re going out and having fun. It’s also fun to meet and hang out with so many different personalities in the evenings.
What is your favorite cocktail at Sophie’s?
The guys behind the bar are very good at mixing all of our lovely drinks that Sophie’s has to offer, but my personal favorite is the Margarita. Also, our “Spicy Margarita” is really good, which one of my friends just taught me to appreciate. I didn’t really have a choice as he is a Margarita expert!
What does the perfect visit to Sophie’s look like?
When it’s crowded, and everyone is singing along to the music, and maybe someone jumps up on the bar and dances. Those evenings are the best.
For what occasions should one book Sophie’s Chambre Separee La Cour?
La Cour is suitable for all kinds of occasions. If you want to go out with a group of friends or your colleagues and want to have the opportunity to create your own feeling. Between 8-20 people is perfect. You sit privately in La Cour during dinner and can play your own music and then continue the evening at Sophie’s until closing time. We tailor all our bookings depending on the guests’ wishes.
What do you like to do on a day off?
Take it easy, exercise, and have nice lunches and dinners with friends. But most of all, I spend a lot of time with my boys, who play hockey, football, and karate. So there’s a lot of driving back and forth, it’s some intense years.
It is rumored that you own a lot of jackets, how many do you actually have?
Haha, that’s a funny question. I like clothes, preferably unique ones, and I sew a lot myself. Especially now that I work at Sophie’s, I have tailored garments/jackets that are suitable for Sophie’s. I have never counted them, but now that I had to, it’s around 30+, but they are a mix of different styles. It sounds like a lot, but I usually give away some and let a lot of them be passed down. I am also a co-owner of Gul & Blå, which is one of Sweden’s most famous brands of all time, so that has also increased my interest in clothes.
Tell us something we don’t know about you!
I’m terribly pedantic. I like order and structure. It may sound a bit strange, but I can’t function without it. However, I have no problem with how others have it.
